This is Rhapsody’s ‘first community’. We love our YMCA, the members, and staff who make it their place to find health- mentally, emotionally and physically. We volunteer to serve at their community events and we’re on campus praying monthly for staff and members.
The Springbrook Village residents make up our immediate community and we are committed to the cause of seeing them thrive mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. There are 297 apartment units at Springbrook representing over 1,000 people, all of whom enjoy a free membership to the YMCA, and all of whom need Jesus. We are deeply committed to sharing the love of Christ with our neighbors.
Freedom House was established in the fall of 2005 and is a one-year intensive residential discipleship ministry for men recovering from life-controlling addictions. There is a second-year option for some known as Advanced Discipleship Training (ADT).
Share Vancouver (Share House)
“At Share, we provide a spectrum of services—from shelters for individuals and families who experience homelessness and a Hot Meals program that provides free meals to the public to an Individual Development Accounts savings program to buy a home, car or pursue education or Lincoln Place, a 30-unit permanent supportive housing apartment complex.”
Rhapsody has served meals and provided volunteer support since early in our journey.
Vida’s Ark was founded in 2007 as a shelter to provide safe, supportive living conditions while teaching young mothers life and parenting skills to become self-sufficient, educated and healthy and parents themselves. Their home provides a place for hope, healing and restoration.
Vida’s Ark recently came under the umbrella of Transitional Youth. They believe God is in the healing, hope and restoration business. His heart moves with compassion and He is the center of why they do what they do at Vida’s Ark.
The Lighthouse Community Resource Center is a place where parents can find resources to provide for themselves and their children in a positive, safe encouraging environment. Some of those resources include: children clothing, shoes, diaper, baby food, toys, books, infant furniture, hygiene products, as well as referrals to parenting/life-skill classes, counseling and community agencies.
