We are God’s poem, His handiwork, His work of art.
Rhapsody Church is God’s workmanship here in Vancouver, Washington. We are part of a larger work God is writing (His Church), to declare His extravagant love and character to those around us.
“For we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in.” – Ephesians 2:10
Brandon and Joy Berg, lead pastors, have hearts that beat for Vancouver, Washington. They have prayed for, wept over, and have a passion for this city. They moved back home to Vancouver in June 2009, after pastoring for four years in Lodi, California. Twelve people gathered for a pre-launch meeting that same month in a living room. Brandon eventually met with Clark County YMCA’s Executive Director and Chaplain and it became clear the YMCA was to be the home for Rhapsody Church.
Rhapsody launched at the YMCA in September 2010 with 32 brave souls. Their heart? To create a community that was safe and transformative for young families in our city. Today, Rhapsody has impacted hundreds of people in the community and the YMCA. She continues to walk with young families, members and staff of the YMCA, and many others along the journey of faith.
God’s poem continues to be written showing us hope and purpose.
To connect young families in Vancouver to Jesus and His Church.
We are an intensely outward focused church with a passion for young families.
We see a community of highly creative adults, youth, and children, innovatively communicating God’s epic story with those far from Him in Vancouver.
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. The third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
